Shelter Cafe is a flower shop turned cafe located near Odori park and has this enchanted forest, botanical collectors shop kinda feel.

Sapporo, having an array of hidden cafes and restaurants, Shelter Cafe is yet another one you will likely never find. In the basement of a residential looking building, in a side street of Odori Park lies this gem.

As you walk in, you enter the flower shop, full of dried bouquets but also a work station where workshops are held. Pass through it and in the back, you will find the cafe itself, with dried flowers covering the ceiling and other exhibits decorating the walls. It is all in all very romantic and a bit enchanted if I dare say.

It is a place to stay for a while and their desserts are to die for. We ordered a french waffle plate for 980¥ to share. as well as tea for 500¥. It tasted as good as it looked and is definitely a portion you can share. You can also come here for lunch and enjoy one of their seasonal Lunch sets for ¥ 980. Or why not come in the evening, they even do alcohol such as Sake, beers and sparkling wine. A great way to start into the evening.

It’s a great place to find “shelter”, eat some tasty food and you may even find a flowery souvenir or two to take with you. Which makes this one of my favorite Cafes in Sapporo.
