Books and Coffee Fukuroshosabo is a well-kept secret, hidden in Ikebukuro!

Many of you may wander around checking out the latest anime or manga. Others may pop into Sunshinecity for a bit of shopping or it’s Pokemon Center. But how about a quiet space to relax? Well, if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of this crazy busy area, you will love this place.

How to find it? It’s actually pretty easy; Leave the station from the west exit and you will see “ESOLA” shopping building. Go up to the 4th floor and voila!

Now, there might be a queue. The way it works, just write down your name in the book at the front and wait for a bit, it is usually not too long as it is quite spacious….

Already at the entrance, you can feel this Cafe is pretty special. Walking in I thought it could be part of a Harry Potter set. It just has that feel to it. It’s casual, yet has that old-style charm. It’s kinda like being in a very old university library. Depends on the size of your group you will be seated. You don’t really get a chance to pick, sorry, as it depends on the space they have free. I got a counter seat, that I was hoping for, Yay! A little bit like a study at college. ????

There is plenty of magazines to read as well as a selection of books, just they are in Japanese. So you might want to bring something to read yourself. The Staff will give you a key once you are seated, which is a bit confusing. It is basically your table token. Bring it to the front when you are ready to pay.

Now about the Food, there is a lunch set option for ¥1080 from 12-3 pm. If you miss it, prices are not too bad. For example, I ordered the spicy pasta for ¥900 and a drink for ¥600. The portion was decent and the taste was great. The Pasta sauce was really rich and creamy with a nice heat to it! I also loved the homemade ginger ale!

If you have a sweet tooth, go for their chiffon cakes, it’s their specialty!
