Yoyogi
Zarigani Cafe is a nice restaurant tucked away in a side street close to Yoyogi Park. It’s a quirky Cafe with a lot of charm and character.
The staff was super friendly and spoke some English, the menu was half-half, meaning it had some English but the majority was written in Japanese, you might need some help…
It was unexpectedly spacious, with sofas as well as some more traditional seating arrangements. The window seats are bright, but the rest of the restaurant is a little dark, in a nice way! A highlight is the chandeliers, which give it a cosy atmosphere fitting in perfectly with the rest of the decor.
We came here around 1 pm, just in time to get their Lunch deal! The set-lunch form 12-5pm, including a main of your choice, a drink and a salad for ¥1080. You can furthermore add soup for ¥200 or dessert for another ¥300. But let us warn you, the portions are huge, so think about it wisely….
We got the soup and salad plate, that came with a huge slice of cheesy toast and the curry, delicious, but not spicy. Generally, we think the spicier the better, but although this was very mild, the flavor was great and the homemade pickles added to it nicely.
Would we come back? Definitely! Especially as there are many more lunch options, including sandwiches and daily specials and we heard the apple pie is to die for!
