We love Fashion and Design here at Obsessed with Japan and have recently discovered SHOHEI, a Japanese/Austrian Fashion Brand located right here in Tokyo! We have been to one of their previous Pop-ups and loved their eco-conscious contemporary collection!
Established in 2016 SHOHEI has a strong focus on clean lines, durability, and we especially liked their use of materials and asymmetric styles.
Creative director Lisa Pek’s clear vison for SHOHEI is to produce versatile and adaptable fashion for a dynamic and socially mindful lifestyle. She is incorporating environmentally responsible materials and processes. A unique mix of styles and fabric combined with a clean color pallet. Both easily integratable into your everyday look, as well as being used as show-stopping eye-catchers.
Or how the Designer herself puts it:
” a split between the futuristic hyperreality of Tokyo and the serene Austrian countryside, combining Japanese street sensibility with Mitteleuropean classicism.”
We also love their collaboration with local brands and producers, especially for their pop up shows, such as exclusive persimmon fruit liquor made in France.
