Shibaraku Onigiri Shop is located in the heart of Shibuya and if you are looking for a homemade, healthy snack this is the perfect Restaurant/Shop to stop by!
There is Onigiri and then there is “Onigiri”. Chances are you have tried the Konbini version from Lawson or Family Mart and we admit, they are not bad! Actually, we are still surprised how good Konbini food is…
But if you want to get a snack that is a bit healtier Shibaraku Onigiri Shop is a great option. As these Onigiri are made on-site and are truly fresh! And you get a great variety of unusual filling too. Such as spam and egg or boiled egg. Or how about fried shrimp or shredded chicken?
Actually even better than the huge variety is that they are actually quite cheap! With most of them for ¥160 and the more meaty ones at around ¥250, they can even compete with the Konbini selection of Onigiri on price! Not too shabby right?
You can get them to take away or eat-in, as they have a few seats and it’s a great place to do a bit of people watching. Either way, you will be a happy customer 🙂
Our favorite? We love the Ume and herb one; crunchy, a little bit sour and super delicious!
