This place is located on the first floor in a small street off the main tracks in Koenji, a bit hidden, so you need to keep your eyes peeled to find Cafe and Bake MoMoMo.
First thing you will notice, there is no menu, just a blackboard and it’s only in Japanese, Sorry.
You order when you get in at the counter and pay, then you can choose your seat and take in the decorations until your food and drinks arrive.
As for the decor, this might speak more to girls, as it has this hippy chic, with buntings and dried flowers hanging from the ceilings. They even have a small tatami area to the front of the cafe. So it’s quite cute.
There was spice curry on the menu, which we could not resist and it had a nice bit of heat to it! The plate was ¥1000, plus we added a boiled egg for ¥100. The portion was decent, especially for lunch! It’s pretty healthy too, with beans and seeds mixed in with the rice, tasty!
You can also get a variety of homemade cakes, such as almond cake and scones and of course coffees. Definitely, a nice place to hang out. We really enjoyed our food and the quiet atmosphere at Cafe and Bake MoMoMo. It really is a little oasis from the busy shopping street just a few meters away.
But if you like a change of scenery, just get the check and hop a few shops down the street and grab the desert at Ichi-San-Go Cafe. The word on the street is, their marshmallow toast is the business ????
