With autumn in full swing, the question for many nature lovers and photographers alike is: where are the Best places to see the autumn leaves in Tokyo?
So we went on a few epic walks these days, all in order to find the top places to see the autumn foliage in Tokyo. And with the weather being so lovely it really is the perfect fall activity!
So, without further ado, here are our Top 5 places to see the autumn leaves in Tokyo:
1.Yoyogi Park
It would not be possible to create a list featuring the best spots to watch the autumn leaves in Tokyo without Yoyogi Park on it. Our very favorite park features plenty of different places that are great to see the autumn foliage. We especially love the area around the pond!

2.Yoyogi Park outdoor stage
Just as you leave Yoyogi Park in the direction of Shibuya you will find Yoyogi Park outdoor stage. Where all year around a plethora of amazing events are being held. With many Food-themed Festivals, such as Thai or Indo Festival, but also Dancing and Performances. Make sure to check out our events section to find the best events in Tokyo before you go. We also love the old school park kiosk-cafe. Perfect to rest for a minute and refill.

3.Akihabara
Not just every anime and manga fans must visit Tokyo neighborhood, but also a great place to see Ginkgo trees with their vibrant yellow autumn foliage. We love that you get to see these amazing trees mixing in with the anime background. Really perfect if you want to get a Picture showing this beautiful symbiosis between the city landscape, its billboard backdrop, and these yellow giants.

4.Rikugien Garden
This garden is not free, it has a general admission of 300 yen, we think that’s ok. It is open every day from 9 am to 4.30 pm. But from the 20th of November they also have special night time viewings, check out the Events for more info!
What is so lovely about Rikugien Garden is, that it is landscaped in the very traditional Japanese style. And with a beautiful lake reflecting the trees in all their autumn color, it’s a stunning place for any photographer to get that picture-perfect shot.

5.Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is another great spot to see the autumn leaves in Tokyo. It too has a small entrance fee of 500 and is open every day from 9 am to 6 pm.
It features a traditional Japanese Tea House, Café as well as a Greenhouse. Please check their Homepage for the exact opening hours of each place. We especially love the traditional old Japanese building “新宿御苑旧御凉亭”, that is located almost in the middle of the Park. With its amazing views..
