Yes, there is an art-themed Shinkansen by JR this October from Tokyo! And we are totally wowed away by it. Its is called “GENBI SHINKANSEN” and it is running from Echigo-Yuzawa to Niigata! For a limited time only, you can go on this journey straight from Tokyo!!! Furthermore, the train features an interactive playroom for Kids. And what would the experience be without something to eat? So, of course, this train also features a special Cafe with a uniquely made dessert menu by Chef Romi Igarashi from Romi-Unie. They will include Vanilla cake made with rice flour from Uonuma, Sado Butter Financiers as well as other treats…
So get on this rolling exhibition and immerse yourself on this journey. And well, if you have enough of looking at the art on display, just gaze out the window and see the beautiful panorama along the way.
When will this happen?
So we are excited that this October 5 and 6 and for those days only we will get a chance to go on this trip straight from Tokyo! As the Genbi Shinkansen will make a little detour on these days from Niigata Station (6.17am) to Tokyo Station (8.20am) and will swiftly return to Niigata (departure 8.32am and arrival at 10.39am). The best part you may wonder? Is that the ticket price is the same as for any regularly operated Shinkansen! Now we love the sound of that 🙂
