DIM LIGHT COFFEE is another small shop in Yoyogi village and is great for a chat with friends or just relax for a bit.

If you have not been to Yoyogi Village, it is a small container style assembly of shops but mainly restaurants and cafes, near Yoyogi station. And as part of it DIM LIGHT COFFEE also has this festival kinda vibe. We love that. So don’t expect a minimalist design coffee shop. It’s rather a counter and a few tables, but there are sofas and it’s got outdoor seating too!

As the name predicts, it’s pretty much just coffee all the way. With a Latte at ¥500 or an Americano at ¥480. There are also few cookies and snacks are available, such as toast (¥420) or Pecan-banana bread (¥500). If you come here after work you can even get a bottled Beer (a little expensive for ¥800) just be early, as they close at 7 pm. If you do get there late, don’t worry you can also check out White Birch Beer Terrace, which is a great alternative Beergarden!

And again if you are hungry this is not a place you will come to eat a big meal. If you should get hungry though, there is plenty to choose from at the neighboring shops ????

We love Bondi cafe! Nestled just along on the side of Yoyogi Park it’s a great escape from busy Shibuya or Harajuku.

It has that beach-cafe style look, with comfy sofas and ample space to relax. It’s colorful and super photogenic and we love the outdoor seating, a tough one to find in Tokyo.

This place is very popular with young mums as well as dog owners as it is one of the best dog-friendly Cafes we found. So don’t be surprised to see a hand full of cute dogs around the place. We guess this makes people either love or hate it. We count ourselves to the first group of people ????

It’s normally quite busy. So just put your name on the list when you get there and wait or alternatively reserve in advance online here. You might need to do so a few weeks before, especially on weekends. But in case you really cannot wait at all, there is a tasty alternative close by called “Life“.

As for their fare; They have great homemade lemonades. Try the yuzu ginger – it’s so refreshing! The food itself is mixed with international dishes but also curries, pizzas or even egg Benedict. Which also qualifies this as a great brunch spot in Tokyo on weekends!

If you go around noon, they do lunch deals, just choose a main and ad ¥400 for the Mini Salad & Drink Set. Or if you fancy a glass of wine you can get that too at an extra ¥300. Rice bowls with toppings such as the spicy chicken come in at around ¥1,200. We ordered this one, as well as the daily fish plate and both, were super tasty!

On a different occasion, we went a bit wild and tried the lot, check out the photos below, but be warned, they look mouth-wateringly delicious!

The Shinjuku Grandbell Hotel Rooftop Bar is a little hidden treasure near Shinjuku!

Whether you want to have a few drinks with friends, a romantic date or just chill out, this is a great place. With its spectacular view over Shinjuku east and its central location, it’s really hard to beat. Yet not many know about this one. ????

The Shinjuku Grandbell Hotel Rooftop Bar has a huge drink menu and serve an ok selection of food. As expected from a hotel that size they have an English menu, so ordering is easy. As for the Food, it might be a bit pricey depending on your budget, but with “Korea Town” next door that is an easy problem to solve. Why not move over a few blocks for dinner or just come here for a nightcap?

We also recommend checking what time sunset is, as you will get beautiful views and in summer you might even get a bright pink sky! It is really a spectacular view! Obviously, this is best when the weather is nice, as you can sit outside on the terrace. Nevertheless, the Restaurant features floor to ceiling windows, so even if it’s raining you can enjoy the view.

So whether this is a fun occasion or you are here to impress, it’s a great place! Just be aware that you might have to pay a little more for drinks, as it is a hotel bar after all. A glass of Red Wine was ¥900. Also if you are not a guest, you will be asked to pay a ¥500 cover charge for the table. Our recommendation is to get a view nibbles to share and drinks, enjoy the view and head out afterward. And if you like Ramen check out Abura-kun Ramen, which is just a min walk away!
