<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Osaka Castle, also called Osaka-jo in Japanese, is one of the famous Japanese Landmarks. Sitting in the middle of a manmade island, this white and with gold ornaments decorated 5 story castle is definitely <strong>a must-visit when in Osaka</strong> or the Kanto Area.</p>

<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A little History lesson</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With its history dating back almost 450 years, <strong>it is hard not to appreciate this majestic castle</strong> and its location. Built in 1583 by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, a feudal lord during the Sengoku period. You can still see his love for Gold reflected on both the inside and the exterior of the Castle.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But the building you see nowadays in front of you is not the original castle Hideyoshi built back then. As <strong>Osaka Castle has been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times</strong>. Some of these occasions were because of war, but it was also struck by lightning and burned down.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The current Castle, as it stands before you now, was reconstructed in 1928 and has resisted major damage during World War II. It has been recognized in 1950 as a “Historic Site” by the Japanese Government and has since been a grand testament to Japanese traditional architecture.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Visiting Osaka Castle</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To be honest, <strong>may visitors just come to take pictures</strong> from the outside. As with its beautiful design, stunning location and its white color contrasting the blue Osaka sky make it a great shot.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But if you want to know a bit more about its history, I do recommend entering. You will be surprised as <strong>the inside of Osaka Castle has been transformed into a historical museum</strong>. The entrance fee is 600 yen but is free for 15 years old and younger. Which makes this great value. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You will find original artifacts displayed on each floor. Giving you that insight into old Japan. The exhibits include old maps and prints a well as armor and weapons. And as an added bonus point most <strong>information is available in English</strong>. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Also once you reach the top floor prepare yourself for a breathtaking view of Osaka and its surrounding areas. Try to imagine what this might have looked like 400 years ago&#8230;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="972" height="727" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Osaka Castle full view" class="wp-image-10226" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 972w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 562w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Park and its surroundings</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">While the Castle is the main attraction, <strong>the Park itself has become very popular</strong> for both cherry blossom season in April and for watching the autumn foliage change later in the year.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are <strong>many places to sit down and relax</strong> if the weather is lovely. Making this a prime spot to have a small picknick. I also recommend the Restaurant and Cafe right next to the Castle, featuring a terrace that provides great views&#8230;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Or why not take a short boat ride? Giving you a chance to see the impressive stone wall up and close. It is estimated that up to 1 million large stones were used to build this enormous 20 m tall and 90 m wide wall.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="972" height="727" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="" class="wp-image-10229" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 972w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Osaka-Castle-far-shot-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 562w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to get to Osaka Castle?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is an easy one. Surrounded by five different stations, no matter where your starting point is, you will get here. But the easiest/closest stations being Morinomiya or Osakajokoen Station. Both just a short walk from Osaka Castle.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Last impressions</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Osaka being rather small and easily accessible, <strong>visiting Osaka Castle is really a must</strong>. And the best part, it can fit into your itinerary, even if you are only visiting for a day. It is a great example of Japanese architecture of that time and a stunning building to see, inside a beautiful park any time of the year!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And now that you have done with the culture part, why not head down to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Oskakas amusement district Dotonbori (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/dotonbori-osakas-street-food-heaven/" target="_blank">Oskaka&#8217;s amusement district Dotonbori</a> or it&#8217;s counterpart <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="old-time charm Shinsekai (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/shinsekai-osakas-most-nostalgic-neighbourhood/" target="_blank">old-time charm nostalgic Shinsekai</a>?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As with every region and city in Japan, <strong>Osaka too, has some signature dishes</strong>, so you may ask yourself, what to eat in Osaka?&nbsp;And you are right, there are a few dishes I think everyone should try. Just what are these must-eats in Osaka?&nbsp;And where do I get them?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Let me share what you cannot miss out on while visiting and give you some recommendations for the best restaurants serving each of these dishes.</p>

<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-7675741398882182"
     data-ad-slot="1295407206"></ins>
<script>
     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1.Okonomiyaki&nbsp;</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I am sure you heard about this <strong>delicious savory Japanese pancake</strong>. With its name begin derived from two words: okonomi, meaning &#8220;what you like&#8221;, and yaki meaning &#8220;cooked or fried&#8221;. It basically means cook what you like. Which explains the many toppings you can add to your basic pancake. Which essentially is a flour, egg, and dashi omelet mix with cabbage and pork.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now, we are in Osaka where all the ingredients are mixed and you will be searching a long time for noodles. Wait, but doesn&#8217;t Okonomiyaki include Soba noodles? Not in Osaka, what you are thinking about is <strong>Hiroshima-Style Okonomiyaki</strong>, almost the same but not. As this style layers or stacks all the ingredients and adds some tasty Noodles, before being smothered in tasty Okonomiyaki sauce and Mayo. Which one is better? I let you decide. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are plenty of Restaurants in Osaka, but perfectly located in Dotonbori and hands down <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="the best place to eat Okonomiyaki in Osaka (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/ajinoya-okonomiyaki/" target="_blank">the best place to eat Okonomiyaki in Osaka</a> is Ajinoya Okonomiyaki. They don&#8217;t take reservations, so come early, but it is definitely worth it!</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="984" height="735" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png" alt="Ajinoya Okonomiyaki Okonomiyaki being cooked" class="wp-image-9950" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 984w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-batter-cooking-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan-1.png 562w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption>Almost ready&#8230;</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2.Kushikatsu</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Not as famous with foreign tourists, but well known and appreciated by locals is Kushikatu. And trust me, once you try it it’s hard to deny how tasty those skewers are.  </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kushikatsu, also often referred to as kushiage are <strong>deep-fried skewers of meat and vegetables</strong>.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushikatsu#cite_note-Rowthorn_2007_p._95-1"> </a>The name comes from the Japanese, kushi that refers to the actual skewers used and katsu, which normally means a deep-fried cutlet of some sort.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The great thing about Kushikatsu are the many varieties. And especially in vegetable deprived Japan being able to choose from more than 10 is quite a luxury. We love how each is adding a different texture and flavor, so make sure you try a few. I recommend the Renkon (which is lotus root), quail eggs, mochi (a soft rice cake), camembert as well as anything wrapped in bacon&#8230;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The skewers are served with raw cabbage and a pot of sauce to dip them in. Now <strong>the only rule is &#8220;no double-dipping&#8221;</strong>. And you don&#8217;t need to be a germophobe to figure why. As the sauce is usually shared with the whole table and only topped up when running low. But don&#8217;t worry, you won&#8217;t forget this one, as there are usually plenty of signs (in various languages) making you aware of this.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Probably <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="the most famous Kushikatsu Restaurant in Osaka (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/japan-osaka-restaurant-kushikatsu-daruma/" target="_blank">the most famous Kushikatsu Restaurant in Osaka</a> is Kushikatsu Daruma, with many Restaurants dotted all over Town. Great if you are looking for some food and maybe a beer. A match made in heaven.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="988" height="742" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Kushikatsu Daruma Kushiage Skewers" class="wp-image-10013" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 988w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewers-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 559w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">3.Takoyaki</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Maybe one of the best street foods in Osaka is Takoyaki and another dish you must try while you are in town. These <strong>tiny balls made of batter and generally filled with bits of octopus</strong> are the perfect snack, pretty much any time of the day. Also watching them prepare it is already worth your money. With the skilled chefs moving so quickly is a performance of its own..</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As Takoyaki means fried or cooked octopus it is pretty straight forward. Normally you will get a small tray of 6 balls topped with takoyaki sauce, mayo, seaweed and generous shavings of dried bonito flakes. And the funny thing is, the more you eat the better they get. Just be careful, these are piping hot, so make sure to give it a few seconds before you dig in.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My favorite place is <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.shirohato.com/kukuru/doutonbori.html" target="_blank">Kukuru</a> located in <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Dotonbori (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/dotonbori-osakas-street-food-heaven/" target="_blank">Dotonbori</a>, but if you cannot make it there, get them somewhere else. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">We love Osaka and for anyone travelling in Japan, it is <strong>the perfect base to travel from in the Kanto area</strong>. Which is why we want to share all the great accommodation in Osaka under 100$ with you.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe less than an hour away it is the perfect place to come back to in between exploring this part of Japan. But with so many hotels, hostels and other forms of accommodation available,<strong> it can be maddening to find a great place to stay</strong>. And we have been there, done that&#8230; </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So let us share our <strong>bargain stays in Osaka</strong>, so you can save a bit of money and spend more on things that matter, like activities and of course food!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Which area in Osaka should I stay?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To be honest, <strong>Osaka is pretty small</strong> compared to other cities and a lot of it is fairly walkable. Also, its Public transport system is well developed and easy to use. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Nevertheless, <strong>we do like to stay central</strong>, close to all, or at least some of the action. Which is why we picked Hotels and Accommodation in places where we feel that is the case. Easy access to sights, cool neighbourhoods such as <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="the famous Dotonbori (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/dotonbori-osakas-street-food-heaven/" target="_blank">the famous Dotonbori</a> or perks we could not resist.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do we have a favourite Hotel under 100$?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Yes, we do. Located in the Shinsaibashi area, within walking distance of Dotonbori we discovered <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Hotel Felice Shinsaibashi By Relief (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.booking.com/hotel/jp/felice-sinsaibasi-by-relief.en.html?aid=1860106&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2" target="_blank">Hotel Felice Shinsaibashi By Relief</a> and <strong>we loved it so much, we even extended our stay!</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">What is so great about it? Well first, with its walking distance (10min) to Dotonbori and being right next to Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street the location is unbeatable. But also <strong>it features a small onsen and probably the best rooftop bar in Osaka!</strong> The view at sunset is stunning and prices for drinks are fair. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rooms start from 70$ per room and that includes 11 am checkout, which is great if you want to lie in. Really, this place is hard to beat.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Great Hostels in Osaka</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now, we love Hostels and especially if you are travelling by yourself it is a great alternative. They are often cheap and it is easy to make friends. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Often frowned upon as a bit grungy and a bit makeshift, <strong>in Japan Hostels are amazing</strong>, especially with their focus on cleanliness and esthetics. Definitely something worth considering and you cannot go wrong with the ones we picked for you here.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">They offer both dormitory and private rooms western or Japanese style, with the later from as little as 28$. And we love that they have a few small common rooms to lounge in as well as a kitchen to use.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And if that is not already enough, <strong>the Sake bar itself is worth your stay</strong>. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chances are if you are coming to Osaka this lively Neighbourhood is on the top of your list. As Dotonbori, <strong>Osaka&#8217;s Street Food heaven</strong> is really not to be missed!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This lively entertainment area may be <strong>Osaka’s most famous tourist spot</strong>. Famous for its neon lights, over the top signage, and its variety of restaurants, bars and of course Street Food.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="991" height="742" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="" class="wp-image-10070" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 991w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Dotonbori-Canal-view-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 561w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A little History of Dotonbori</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When we are talking about “Dotonbori”, we generally refer to the Dotonbori Canal as well as the Dotonbori Street running parallel to the canal in the Nanba district. In more detail, the central part between Midosuji Boulevard and Sakaisuji Street, which is about 600 meters out of the total 2.5km. <strong>With Ebisu Bridge across Dotonbori being the epicenter</strong>, featuring the sign of the iconic Glico runner.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The history of Dotonbori dates back to 1612 when Yasui Doton a rich merchant invested into creating a new waterway linking the local canal network with the Kizugawa River for Business. Unfortunately, war interrupted and he was killed. But later in 1615 a family member completed his work and the canal was <strong>named Dotonbori in his memory.</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>The area began quickly to flourish</strong>, with many Restaurants, theater companies and others moving into this now vibrant area. Although many of the theaters have been destroyed since, it continues to be <strong>a hub for night time activities</strong>, with its many clubs and small venues.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="990" height="741" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Shopping street in Dotonbori Osaka" class="wp-image-10069" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 990w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Restaurant-street-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 561w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dotonbori, Osaka&#8217;s Street Food heaven</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These days, Dotonbori is probably the most famous area in Osaka. <strong>Known for its variety of restaurants, street-food stalls, and bars.</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Osaka often being referred to as &#8220;the belly of Japan&#8221; sums this up quite nicely. With its <strong>food obsession</strong>, the term &#8220;Kuidaore&#8221; is often used. Meaning &#8220;eat till you drop&#8221;! </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Being in the Area, we recommend trying everything. Seriously. <strong>Food is great and prices are fair</strong>. Especially if you are coming from Tokyo, you will find this very refreshing. If we must give you a recommendation it would be the following:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Glico Running Man</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dotonbori is famous for being a bit like <strong>a huge food amusement park</strong>. With its eye-catching giant food replicas, neon signage and billboards it is hard to keep focused. However, there is one that stands above all others; the Glico running man. This 20x10m sign depicting a <strong>runner raising his arms in victory</strong> is the most iconic. Located right above Ebisubashi Bridge there is no visitor that does not take this picture. Preferable with oneself in the same winning pose!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-9 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex"><ul class="blocks-gallery-grid"><li class="blocks-gallery-item"><figure><img decoding="async" width="559" height="738" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-in-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="" data-id="10065" data-full-url="https://i0.wp.com/obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-in-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png?fit=559%2C738&amp;ssl=1" data-link="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/?attachment_id=10065" class="wp-image-10065" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-in-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 559w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-in-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 227w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-in-Dotonbori-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 318w" sizes="(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px" /></figure></li><li class="blocks-gallery-item"><figure><img decoding="async" width="556" height="741" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-with-people-in-Dotonbori-Osaka-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="" data-id="10066" data-full-url="https://i2.wp.com/obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-with-people-in-Dotonbori-Osaka-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png?fit=556%2C741&amp;ssl=1" data-link="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/?attachment_id=10066" class="wp-image-10066" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-with-people-in-Dotonbori-Osaka-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 556w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-with-people-in-Dotonbori-Osaka-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 225w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-with-people-in-Dotonbori-Osaka-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Glico-Man-with-people-in-Dotonbori-Osaka-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 315w" sizes="(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px" /></figure></li></ul></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to get there?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is <strong>easily accessible from Namba Subway Station</strong>, less than 4 minutes on foot. And only 10min walk from Shinsaibashi, with its many Hotels and Americamura famous for its fashion and shops.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do we like it?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We love it! </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>No visit to Osaka would be complete without coming to Dotonbori</strong>, Osaka&#8217;s Street Food heaven and we promise you won&#8217;t be disappointed. You will leave with your belly full, dazzled by all the lights and some great memories.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you are visiting Japan and stopover in Osaka, make sure to check out &#8220;Shinsekai&#8221;, Osaka&#8217;s most nostalgic Neighbourhood!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Shinsekai (新世界) translated literally means &#8220;New World&#8221; and was developed before the war, however, it was neglected when the war ended. And when you look at it closely, you will see some similarities with other places, as it was indeed modeled after two famous cities. With its northern half resembling Paris, and the southern part built to imitate New York&#8217;s Coney Island. </p>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<script async="" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-7675741398882182" data-ad-slot="1295407206"></ins>
<script>
     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tsutenkaku Tower</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When you arrive you will first see Shinsekai&#8217;s iconic Tsutenkaku Tower. Constructed in 1912 it is situated in the northern part and you will clearly see where the inspiration for it came from. Of course, it was Paris&#8217; Eiffel Tower. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Although destroyed during WWII, this Landmark was reconstructed in 1956 and now features a beautiful open-air deck on top of the main observatory. With the tower being 103 meters high, it will give you an amazing view of the area. And with an admission fee of 800 yen (plus 500 yen for the open-air deck), it does not break the bank and is certainly well worth it.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eating in This Area</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you want to go out and have a great time, Shinsekai is (as well as <a href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/dotonbori-osakas-street-food-heaven/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">famous Dotonbori</a>) the place to go to. And especially if you are looking for one of Osaka&#8217;s top specialties: Kushikatsu!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It feels like all of the Restaurants here are selling these tasty skewers, but if you are not sure which of the many restaurants to choose, I recommend <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Kushikatsu Daruma (opens in a new tab)" href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/japan-osaka-restaurant-kushikatsu-daruma/" target="_blank">Kushikatsu Daruma</a>, with 4 Restaurants in the area you will be sure to get a seat. However, expect a little wait, as these guys are popular and rightly so. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In case you have not tried &#8220;Kushikatsu&#8221; yet, they are small vegetables and meat skewers, battered and deep-fried. With the huge variety of vegetables available, unusual for Japan, I would almost call it healthy. However, being deep-fried and then dipped in a smooth and sweet Kushikatsu sauce, it may be closer to a chipper. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Another huge plus, many of Shinsekai&#8217;s Kushikatsu Restaurants open 24 hours, so this could be a great last stop or early morning snack in case you are dealing with Jetlag.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="987" height="741" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Skewers at Kushikatsu Daruma in Shinsekai" class="wp-image-10015" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 987w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Kushikatsu-Daruma-Kushiage-Skewer-selection-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 559w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Makes Shinsekai so Special?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Aside from the food and a reputation as a great spot to go out at night, due to its opening hours, its nostalgic feel is really what makes this area so special.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It has this theme-park feel, but without being cheesy. And with every corner you turn, you walk into another world, with giant cranes and colorful fish floating above. It really transports you into another Univers with its vibrant colors and visual, almost like being inside a movie.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="986" height="739" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Shinsekai in Osaka" class="wp-image-10037" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 986w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Shinsekai-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 560w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bonus</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Moreover, Shinsekai is also home to <strong><a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Spa World (opens in a new tab)" href="http://www.spaworld.co.jp/english/" target="_blank">Spa World</a></strong>. If you feel the need for some pampering, this would be the place for you. This bath complex offers a large number of themed pools, both European (meaning bring your swimsuit) as well as Japanese onsen style. It does feature natural hot spring water, which makes it the perfect place to rest and just let the world be for a few hours&#8230;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The entrance fee is 1300yen, which with its big Amusement Pools, stone baths, and other features is extremely good value. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="713" height="312" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Spa-world-Osaka.png" alt="Spa World Osaka bathhouse" class="wp-image-10032" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Spa-world-Osaka.png 713w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Spa-world-Osaka.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Spa-world-Osaka.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption>Photo: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/spaworld.jp/">https://www.facebook.com/spaworld.jp/</a></figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Get Here</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Shinsekai, Osaka&#8217;s most nostalgic Neighbourhood is only a short walk from the Shin-Imamiya Station (JR Loop Line), the Dobutsuen-mae Station (Midosuji and Sakaisuji Subway), and the Ebisucho Station (Sakaisuji Subway). So it is very easily accessible.</p>

<script>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">My take on Shinsekai</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I just love this photogenic neighborhood with its great small restaurants and shops. A fun place to explore and enjoy. Shinsekai is still a place many people don&#8217;t know about, so make sure to check it out when you visit Osaka!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kushikatsu Daruma is a small Restaurant chain focusing on, surprise, Kushikatsu! Those <strong>delicious deep-fried skewers of meat and vegetables.</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We went to their Restaurant in Shinsekai, as this area is packed with Kushikatsu Restaurants and the perfect place to try this <strong>local street food style dish</strong>. And actually, just in this area, Kushikatsu Daruma has not 2, but 4 Restaurants!</p>

<script async="" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-7675741398882182" data-ad-slot="6392928432"></ins>
<script>
     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Our Tip; The biggest one in the middle of the main Shopping street always has a queue, but just 2-3min walk you can go to one of their other Restaurants with half the wait.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As already mentioned, their specialty is Kushikatsu, also known as Kushiage. Deep-fried skewers of meat and vegetables. Which are then <strong>dipped in sauce and eaten wit raw cabbage.</strong> And there is really just one rule to remember: Only dip one time! </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Although the menu is not in English, there are <strong>plenty of pictures and the staff speak English</strong> and are happy to help. One small thing, smoking is allowed inside, so if that’s an issue for you then don’t pick this place.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But what can we say, <strong>the food is great!</strong> You can get sets with a bit of everything at a great value or buy them one by one. The Sets start from 5 skewers for 1000¥ and the single ones start at 180¥. If you do the latter, <strong>we absolutely loved the Renkon, beef tendon, Beni Shoga (pickled red ginger) and the ham with asparagus</strong>. And yes, these go great with a nice cold beer&#8230;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Make sure to stop by, when visiting Shinsekai but you can also check out their Dotonbori shop in the heart of Osaka.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Hana Sake Bar is <strong>a small Sake bar</strong> in the lively Shinsaibashi district of Osaka, well hidden in one of its many side streets.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Although it is labeled as a standing bar, they have seats or better stools. So it is comfortable and <strong>very easy to spend an hour or two here</strong>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The other thing we loved about Hana Sake Bar, is that they have a <strong>great selection of Sake. </strong>So whether you are a Sake geek or never tried it, you will find something here! The owner carefully created an easy to understand menu, available in English. That gives you everything you need to know<strong> </strong>in an easily digestible format.</p>

<script async="" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-7675741398882182" data-ad-slot="1295407206"></ins>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What should you try at Hana Sake Bar?</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you are new to Sake, <strong>ask for a recommendation</strong>, let the Staff know what you usually drink, what flavors you like and you will get something nice.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">What we definitely recommend; <strong>make it a tasting tray!</strong> Actually, they call it a flight.&nbsp; Because it’s great value at 900¥ for 3 and <strong>it gives you a chance to compare</strong>. You will be surprised once you do.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We especially loved the Niida-Shizenshu, Mimorosugi, and Tamaasahi. But this is really personal taste&#8230;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Furthermore and a little unexpected,<strong> there is food too!</strong> Portions are small, as this is more snacks to accompany the drinks. But they are delicious. We ordered the smoked plate, that included cheese, chicken, and nuts for 600¥. As well as the mackerel with mozzarella for 400¥. This was <strong>so good we ordered it twice</strong>, as you can choose between Yuzu and miso dressing. The Yuzu was unreal!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Definitely a place to put on your list if you visit “the belly of japan”!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Menya Ageha Ramen is perfectly located just <strong>a short walk from Osaka castle!</strong> Which makes it a great place to check out, especially in the colder month of the Year.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It’s a small enough shop seating just about 13 people and it looks like a traditional ramen shop, nothing fancy, but <strong>the staff is so nice</strong>, it felt like we were locals.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Get your ticket at the machine. First,<strong> insert the cash then pick your Ramen</strong>. And we warn you, it’s a bit temperamental if your money comes back out a few times, it’s not you! Just keep trying.</p>

<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-7675741398882182"
     data-ad-slot="1295407206"></ins>
<script>
     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And as already mentioned, the staff or what we think are the owner are super friendly although they don’t speak much English. The menu too is Japanese only, but <strong>every item has a clear picture on the machine</strong>, so you cannot go wrong.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We ordered the Tsukemen for 980¥ and the Nr2 Bestseller for 800¥, why not the Nr1? It was another Tsukemen so we wanted to change it up a bit. <strong>You can tell them small, middle or large for the noodles at no extra cost</strong>. And as always, the small was pretty big. So think wise. Especially as this is not your light broth, it’s <strong>a creamy thick sauce. Hearty and full of flavor</strong>. If you get through the whole bowl, fair play!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is real soul food, so if you go see Osaka Castle, come and check it out. As Menya Ageha Ramen is definitely within the <a href="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/best-ramen-japan/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="top ramen (opens in a new tab)">top ramen</a> we ate this year!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ajinoya Okonomiyaki is the queen of all Okonomiyaki! <strong>If you eat at one Restaurant in Osaka, make it Ajinoya Okonomiyaki!</strong> These guys really know their craft!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is located in the very center of Osaka, <strong>just a minute or two from the famous Dotombori.</strong> Come from Glicoman and walk through Ebisu Bashi-suji shopping street and it will be on your right-hand side.</p>

<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And yes you will queue. <strong>Plan around 30 min</strong> and you should be ok. But, it goes without saying it’s worth it!&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can take an English menu as you are waiting, so you have <strong>ample time to decide what you want.</strong> You will be asked to place your order before you enter the restaurant. So better be prepared! We think it’s great, cause you won’t waste time at the table, as your ingredients arrive swiftly, as you are sitting down.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-19 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex"><ul class="blocks-gallery-grid"><li class="blocks-gallery-item"><figure><img decoding="async" width="559" height="340" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-cooked-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="" data-id="9949" data-full-url="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-cooked-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" data-link="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/?attachment_id=9949" class="wp-image-9949" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-cooked-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 559w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-cooked-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px" /></figure></li><li class="blocks-gallery-item"><figure><img decoding="async" width="342" height="193" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-shovels-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="" data-id="9946" data-full-url="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-shovels-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" data-link="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/?attachment_id=9946" class="wp-image-9946" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-shovels-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 342w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Ajinoya-Okonomiyaki-shovels-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px" /></figure></li></ul></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What did we get?</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We got one special Ajinoya&#8217;s Mix for 1250¥ made of <strong>Squid, Octopus, Shrimp, and Minced meat</strong>. As well as the variation of 3 Mini, where you can choose 3 Toppings, one for each, and <strong>perfect for sharing</strong>. We order one cheese, one bacon and one pork for 900¥. And let us tell you, this is <strong>great value!</strong> You will be rolling out of this place. <strong>They cooked the Okonomiyaki at our table in front of us</strong>, but you can do it yourself if you wish. We do love the show though&#8230;.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Needless to say, we love Ajinoya Okonomiyaki! <strong>The flavors were amazing, the quality of the products outstanding</strong>, plenty of sauce, the service fantastic and it is cheap!&nbsp;What else do you want?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Come here If you never had okonomiyaki, but also if you tried before, <strong>it’s another level！</strong></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Special Tip!</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To our surprise, sauces included mustard! We never seen this before and it seems to be a bit weird. But let us tell you; it is great! <strong>Do try it, as it adds another kick!</strong> If you get two Okonomiyaki or the mini set of 3, have at least one with mustard. It’s totally delicious!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rikuro’s cheese cake, <strong>famous for its wobble</strong> is a must-eat treat when in Osaka!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And yes how could we not love it? Located inside the busy Ebisubashisuji shopping street in the Namba district, it’s central and easy to find. But yes, you will be queuing as <strong>it is popular with locals and tourists alike!</strong> And to add to the confusion, there are two queues. One for outside where you purchase, <strong>freshly out-of-the-oven</strong> and still hot cheesecake. The other one for eat-in or cake that is roughly 2h old.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="986" height="735" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Rikuro’s cheese cake 2 queues" class="wp-image-9916" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 986w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 80w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 265w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Queues-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 563w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The trick question is what if you want warm cheese cake to eat in?!?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here is our tip! Queue outside, tell them you want it for here (English is ok) and then find a seat with it. You can get plates and cutlery from the till inside and the great part, <strong>you can watch them make the cheese cake as you are eating it!</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="987" height="704" src="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png" alt="Making of Rikuro’s cheese cake" class="wp-image-9915" srcset="https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 987w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 300w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 768w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 100w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 696w, https://obsessedwithjapan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Rikuro’s-cheese-cake-Cake-Making-Photo-by-Obsessed-with-Japan.png 589w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rikuro’s cheese cake only do one size, and it’s massive! But<strong> perfect to share for 4people</strong>, manageable with 2 or 3 and well if you are on your own it will be a real victory! But fret not, because we got another tip for you! If you cannot finish you can <strong>ask them for a takeaway box</strong>. Great right?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>One of these beautiful cakes will set you back around 750¥</strong>. Depending on wether you eat it there or take it out it will be 10% extra. So if you are a group and share this is not too expensive. They also have other cakes too, as well as tea and coffee for 200¥ to wash it down. </p>

<script async="" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-7675741398882182" data-ad-slot="1295407206"></ins>
<script>
     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Did we like it? <strong>We loved it!</strong> Although the wobble was not as impressive as we thought. We were surprised at how light and fluffy it is. With a pleasant aroma of aerated pancake and literally dissolved on our tongue.&nbsp;<strong>The perfect sightseeing treat!</strong></p>
