Wow! October is already coming to an end, which means that Halloween in Tokyo is about to start any day! And as you may have guessed, Tokyoites are crazy about Halloween with plenty of parades and Halloween Events happening in and around Tokyo in the next days. Over the last few years, Halloween has become a massive phenomenon in Tokyo! Of course with their love for Cosplay, this really is a no brainer if you ask us. And Tokyo is great with its variety of Events, Parties, and Parades. Whether you are just visiting or living here there are Events catering for anyone!

Many Neighbourhoods will fill up with fancy-dressed people and it’s great to just go out have a look at all the costumes even if you’re not feeling in the mood to dress up. Shibuya has been one of the most famous places to hang out. But with overly excited and drunk people recently causing some problems, you will see a lot of police around the area, especially Shibuya scramble. In fact, some Ward offices area planning to ban public drinking, so be careful.

1. Bake-Neko Halloween Parade

13th of October; 10 am – 5 pm

Bake Neko Festival Crowd

One of the first Events in October. Unfortunately, it is also the one, many people miss, because it already happens on the 13th of October. Its a charming parade with everyone dressing up as cats. A must-see for any Catlover. Meow!

2. Kawasaki Halloween Parade

27th of October; 2 pm – 4 pm

Kawasaki Halloween Parade

One of the most famous events for Cosplayers in Tokyo! So if you are into dressing up or just want to see how creative people get here in Tokyo, then this is the event for you! Bring your Camera as you will regret it otherwise…

3. Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival

26th–27th of October; 11 am – 5 pm

Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival in Tokyo might be the largest Halloween event in Japan! with more than 20’000 cosplayers expected. Now that sounds amazing, right?

Go there and just check it out for free or participate and get a ticket for ¥2,000(tax included) for a one day pass. The ticket includes storage as well as changing-room access. You can buy tickets online here for an extra discount.

4. Wa-Halloween at Tokyo Dome

4th of October – 17th of November; 10 am – 9 pm (depending on activity)

Wa-Halloween at Tokyo Dome

Wa-Halloween at Tokyo Dome is a special Halloween celebration offering a few spooky activities this October.

Anybody else having “fond”, eh, we mean terrifying Childhood memories thinking about the scary house? If yes, come to Tokyo Dome and visit their Haunted House, an oldy but goldy. Or for special experience check their futuristic VR x Reality Haunted Mansion! Tickets are ¥ 1,000 for each.

5. Shibuya

26th – 31st of October; All day but mainly evening

There is not an official event, but Shibuya has somewhat become where everyone meets during this time. Our friends at “Tokyo Fashion” made this video and it just shows the madness and creativity on the streets of Shibuya.

Dress up and make some friends, as everyone is especially friendly during this scary season. Or if you are not a big friend of crowds, this might just be the Area to avoid for a view day…
