Tatsunoya Ramen is a pretty famous Ramen store in Shinjuku, so it was about time we went to check out what the hype is all about!

Pretty much any time you walk by, you will see a queue in front of this Ramen Shop. But the good news is, the wait is not crazy. As with most Ramen shops in Japan, it’s a bit of an in-and-out business. People do not come here and linger for hours, like they would in coffee shops….

And it’s straight forward. You 1st go get a ticket inside from the machine and then line up in the queue again until it’s your turn. Hand over your ticket and voila, tasty ramen will arrive quickly!

We got the “Tsukemen” which is cold Ramen that you dip in the separately served soup, and it was delicious!!! We especially liked the broth with chewy meaty bits, so yum! You can get different sices too. We recommend getting the smaller one. With Ramen, the portions are always huge as you may know… But the small we think is just right. It costs 880¥ and the normal size is 980¥. We added egg for 100¥, also a must if you ask us. Spicy Bean sprouts are free and you can add them to your liking, as well as their signature pickles.

Once you are done with your Noodles, you can ask for “rice-porridge” to be added to your Soup. It is really tasty and a great way to finish all of the tasty liquid.

And yes, we can see why there is a queue everyday! Because the Ramen is that good and the guys running it were extra friendly! We had such a great experience!

Definitely check this out, if you are in the area or come here to tick it off your best Ramen in Tokyo list if you love ramen!
