Local SAKE and BEER Stand 336 is a small stylish Sake standing bar just ion the way to Kiyomizu-dera one of the stunning Buddhist temples of Kyoto.

If you are visiting you must come here!

The sake taster set is 1000¥ and consists of 3 cups of delicious premium Sake. You can also get some local nibbles to go with it. Plus floral-shapes wheat crackers come for free when you order a drink!

It’s really beautiful! The food is picture perfect! And the sake tray too!

We ordered the local Sake tasting set from the Brewery: Kinshi Masume. Including a pure rice Sake, a special pure rice Sake and a top range pure rice Sake. As well as the cream cheese with miso plus, as already mentioned, crackers came for free, yay!

The selection of Sake was delicious, only high quality, so if you are new to Sake, you will enjoy these. As you may know with Sake, flavours can vary and it can be a little like wine. So this is a great way to start your Sake journey if you are not very familiar with it. Give it a try, you will be surprised!

Our tip, order the cream cheese with miso, it perfectly accompanies the Sake. You also get a dollop of miso and some pepper to dip. We really recommend trying a few variations ????

What can we say, the Sake is great at Local SAKE and BEER Stand 336. The staff is lovely, speaks some English and there is an English menu available too! Really no excuse not to visit! And make sure to check out how to spend one day in Kyoto for some inspiration on what else to do.
