We could not hide our excitement when we heard that a new Gundam Factory opens in Yokohama! With the opening to be scheduled in autumn this year. Making Yokohama a must-visit for every fan, so watch out Odaiba!

This is great news, with Tokyo, now featuring 2 life-size Robots! And what is making this even more exciting is that in Yokohama, we are looking forward to seeing an 18 meter “moving” Gundam. Yes, you heard right. Compared to the Robot in Odaiba, this one is said to have mobility such as gestures…

When will the Gundam Factory open in Yokohama?

Officially open from October 2020, the sad news is that it will only be open for 1 year. And is meant to close its doors again in October 2021. But we are hoping this may be extended if popular, so fingers crossed.

But for any of you visiting for the Olympics 2020 the good news is, the GUNDAM FACTORY in YOKOHAMA will also have some Special Experience held on Saturdays & Sundays between July to August 2020. You will be able to apply for tickets starting in April. So make sure to set those reminders, as this will be a popular one. Release dates have not yet been communicated, so stay tuned.

What else?

Of course, there will be more, as the Gundam Dock will feature shops, exhibitions, and even an Academy, for you to learn some hands-on knowledge about how these robots were designed and constructed. But wait, isn’t there something missing? Yes, you are right, there will also be Gundam-themed food and drinks served at Gundam Cafe. Just another reason to go check it out!

You can find more detailed info visiting the official homepage and for a making-of sneak-peek, this youtube video leaked…
